Chocolate Chip Cookies

Calvin and Landry went to Oklahoma this past weekend, so it was just Brody and me at home. I decided to tackle making cookies with Brody's help. It was fun, quick-paced and well....messy! He threw a terrible fit when I took away the measuring spoon with the baking powder in it. I was trying to get him to tap it on the side of the bowl and instead he jerked it toward his mouth. Of course it went all over the front of him and everything else. He still managed to get it in his mouth - yuck.

Ear Fat Myringoplasty

Landry just had surgery on her left eardrum to repair a hole in it Thursday of last week. They were unable to remove the tube she had placed in there 2 years ago. The tube had created a hole and had fallen through the drum to her middle ear. The surgery took about 30 minutes and they removed the fat from the back of her earlobe. She has 3 stitches that will be removed tomorrow.
Landry did great, she only whimpered a few times saying that she wanted to go home. Brody was less than impressed with the whole situation. Up at 4:40, no breakfast, only a few sneaks of milk and confined behind a curtain - NOT his ideal day. Calvin had to take him out to the Tahoe, put him in his seat, turned on a movie and he went right to sleep. We were done and on our way home by 9-ish.

Halloween/Fall Pictures

It has been a long time since I have updated this thing!! Thought I would post a few pictures that we took a few days ago. I really feel like it is impossible to get kids to smile when you want them too. They definitely have minds of their own.

Birth Day! 7-29-08

Love that sweet face!!!!

First 'sort-of-okay' family pic.

The first meeting.

Momma and her sweet boy.

Getting weighed.

After his first bath.

Big Sis loving on her new brother.
The pictures are strangely out of order, oh well.
Thought I would post a few pictures of Brody's 'birth day'.
It seems like yesterday in some ways and like a lifetime ago in others. So hard to look at him now and remember that tiny body. It seems as if though I miss every age/stage. But, as he grows each age/stage is 'my favorite'.
Happy Birthday (tomorrow) my sweet boy. I love you more than words!!!!

The Day Before...

This was to be a nice belly kiss....instead I got a raspberry.

My hospital room view.

The last "family of 3" photo.

So hard to believe that one year ago today, I walked into the hospital at 7 pm knowing that within a few hours I would be meeting my son. Oh how our lives have changed in the last year. I am so thankful for my kids and where we are today. Our children bring us such joy and laughter (okay and a few tears).
Landry and Brody are such good friends. He lights up when he sees her, especially in the mornings. She loves to make him laugh and he loves to laugh at her. He has just started to become jealous of her a bit. She was sitting on my lap the other day and he pulled and pulled at her pajamas wanting her off my lap. She moved and he grinned, throwing his arms up wanting to be picked up. LOVE them both SO much!!!!!

"All the better to bite you with my dear."

Brody really isn't biting, but what a mark it would leave if he did! He has 7 teeth and I can see #8 below the gum line.
He looks like my baby when he isn't smiling, but looks like such a toddler when he grins and shows his chompers.
Just as I am typing this, he is using his teeth to open a container of puffs. He can easily get the lid off. Good thing he just finished the last of them - I would have had to pick them up off the floor for the 3rd time!
